Data collection
ZenOCR does not collect, store, sell, or share your personal data. The app requires no account to use, and it contains no advertising or analytics tools.
Local document processing
ZenOCR turns PDFs and images into text or Markdown. Your documents, images, and OCR results are processed locally on your device. They are never sent to our servers or to any third party.
Network access
ZenOCR uses the network only for a few limited purposes: downloading OCR models, processing App Store purchases through Apple’s StoreKit, and opening links you choose to open. These requests are never used to upload your documents, images, or OCR results for processing.
In-app purchases
ZenOCR offers lifetime Pro access as an in-app purchase through the App Store. All transactions are handled by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment information.
Files and permissions
You control which files ZenOCR can access through macOS permissions and app sandboxing. Files you open stay under your control and can be deleted at any time.
Third-party services
ZenOCR does not integrate any third-party analytics or tracking services. Apple may process information related to App Store downloads, purchases, refunds, and subscriptions in accordance with Apple’s own privacy policy.
This website
This policy describes the ZenOCR app. The ZenOCR website (zenocr.com) is separate and uses privacy-friendly product analytics (PostHog) to understand how visitors use the page. There is no cross-site advertising. If you submit your email to claim a launch discount, we store it (via Resend) and email you the code, and only contact you again about ZenOCR if you opted in. You can ask us to delete your email at any time through the Support page.
Children’s privacy
ZenOCR is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any data from children.
Data retention
Because ZenOCR does not collect personal data on any server, there is no personal information for us to retain.
